Dr. Bjorn Lobo is a board-certified and dual fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in spine surgery and brain tumor surgery.

He is a partner at California Neurosurgical Institute and vice-chair of surgery at Dignity Health Northridge Hospital.

His surgical practice encompasses the full spectrum of neurosurgery with a focus on brain and skull base tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, and degenerative spinal disease.

Dr. Lobo did his residency in Neurosurgery at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation, one of the top four hospitals in the country.
He then went on to complete a two-year fellowship focused on the treatment of complex brain tumors at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a one-year fellowship in minimally invasive and endoscopic skull base surgery at the Saint John’s Cancer Institute in Santa Monica.

 

Combining meticulous surgical techniques with compassionate patient care, Dr. Lobo brings world-class care to his patients.

He received Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital’s Health Care Hero Award in 2019 for excellence in surgical patient care.

Dr. Lobo authored multiple articled and book chapters focusing on advancing surgical technique and patient outcomes.

His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals Neurosurgery, Pituitary, Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, World Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery Clinical North America, and Journal Korean Neurosurg Society.

Dr. Lobo is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeon.

Prior to his training as a Neurosurgeon, Dr. Lobo was one of a select handful of high school students selected in the nation to combine their undergraduate and medical school into a six-year period.
